Mahnaz Afkhami is one of the leading advocates for women's rights in the Islamic world. Before the Islamic revolution in Iran she served as the Minister of State for Women's Affairs. She is the founder and president of Women's Learning Partnership and has written many books and articles promoting women's rights. She is currently in exile in the United States.
