Dustin Lee Hoffman is a two-time Academy Award-winning and three-time Golden Globe-winning American actor whose many memorable films include, All The President’s Men, The Graduate, Kramer vs. Kramer, Lenny, Little Big Man, Midnight Cowboy, Rain Man and Tootsie. The Graduate, the film that first brought him into the public limelight, was voted the 7th Greatest Movie of All-Time by the American Film Institute. Offscreen, Dustin Hoffman has been involved in numerous charities for a better world. He and his wife and others co-founded Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times which provides recreational activities for children with life-threatening illnesses. The many other organizations he has also supported include the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the National Resource Defense Council and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In 2004 he was honored by the ACLU for participating in films throughout his career that focused on important social issues, such as First Amendment rights, censorship, women's rights, prisoners' rights, disability rights and exposing political corruption.
